This week I have to conversarles of my faculty, the Faculty of Dentistry of University of Chile, which was founded in late 1888 during the government of Jose Manuel Balmaceda as "School of Dentistry", the first of its kind in the country, which was dependent on the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy University of Chile, besides being attached to Hospital "St. Vincent de Paul". In this school courses were taught lasting two years. The September 10, 1911 a new and modern "Dental School" opened in the district of Recoleta with the presence of the president at the time, Don Ramón Barros Luco, this inauguration was due to the dentist "German Valenzuela Basterrica" helped the resolution of the case of the "German Allegation", where the Prussian consulate was burned at that time, where a body was found and thought it was the cansiller "William Becker" and that the culprit had been Ezequiel Tapia, Chilean guard the building. At present, dental school is changed to the commune of Independence in 2011 for the centenary of the faculty.
While this change building, made the faculty modernized in terms of infrastructure and research instruments and dental clinic, but still lacking to fix various topic, like space, more green areas, best dental care, but I feel that is normal before a recent change
I think more communication with the other faculties is necessary, because while the Faculty is very close to the Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Medicine, communication is little or no, so missing more integration, we ensure that all a common good, the patient's health
Hello Seba! The Becker case is one of my favorite stories, due to their relationship with the odotology and the origin of our faculty. I agree with you, it would be good a great integration between the faculties, as we all seek the welfare of patients. Regards! :)

ResponderBorrarI agree with you, because although often cultural and sporting events are held between the faculties of the University of Chile, is really needed better communication and greater unity as university :)
